thank you for the answer to my question! (: as for the redness of your skin... could the birth control have anything to do with it? maybe the hormones are causing your skin to be red. i found this article online... i hope it helps!

Is your skin irritated and blotchy? Want to know how to get rid of red skin and clear up these imperfections? Well, look no further. There are ways to remove the redness, sometimes associated with psoriasis. Follow the steps below to figure out how to get a better complexion in a timely way.

Step 1: Do you have any friends or family with a similar problem? Ask them what has worked in their cases and give those methods a try. If you are still red in the face, read on.

Step 2: Give yourself exposure to sunlight and water. It has been shown that about 80 percent of people who enjoy daily sunlight see improvement in their complexion. Water is also known to clear up complexions if consumed in large amounts.

Step 3: Try balneotherapy, a water-based treatment used in Europe and Asia that uses natural thermal springs, hot springs, mineral water and sea water. This technique is generally used at spas.

Step 4: Climatotherapy is another technique that can improve your skin. This a combination of sunlight and water, like the ocean or other water bodies, used to treat psoriasis. It uses natural elements to help with the problem.

Step 5: Other possible treatments can include acupuncture, herbal remedies, prayer and meditation, although they are not scientifically proven to work.

Tips:

If your red skin is taking time to clear up, try using cosmetic cover-up to lighten up your skin until the redness goes away.

Ask your doctor or dermatologist if there are any medications you can take for your skin.

It sounds like you have sensitive skin. I do as well, and since started using Amie skin stuff its been much better. It's all natural and gentle and stuff. You can get it in Boots, or over the internet if you aren't from the UK, and it isn't that expensive. Also, don't fuss around with your skin too much. Cleanse only when it feels dirty, mosturise only when it feels dry and don't touch your skin too much. Good luck! x
I would try using a calming moisturizer or one that is slightly tinted. It sounds like you might have really red undertones in your skin (some people have blue, some people have yellow or olive) and some of those moisturizers can help reduce the appearance of redness. My favorites are from Aveeno which you can find at any drugstore.

Hope I helped!
it almost sounds like an allergic reaction. do you have the problem year round? was it a problem BEFORE you started birth control? Many prescriptions cause skin irritation, like hives or puffyness or redness. Birth control always made my skin really sensitive, I stopped taking it partly for this reason!
Ask your doctor about it because it may be a symptom of the birth control messing with your hormones. And for a quick fix, you may have already tried this but maybe going tanning a few times could help, it always clears things up for me....Good luck!
ok I am going to say this once i know a lot about what you need to do if it is getting really bad go see a doctor if it hurts really bad after you have been in the sun it might be cancer or sun burn.
You should be grateful for not having acne...

I am 20 and I have pimples on my face AND my body.. Like back and chest and shoulders and face.

And I am a girl. so.. be lucky and happy for being beautiful
Get a checkup at the Dr. for any female diseases which can cause Acne. Like PCOS Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome. Or try Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2 in 1 Mask
proactive maybe?
