Several skin-care questions from a guy that just doesn't know better.?

So I was depressed for a while. And my physical appearance has suffered from it. I've done my best to break out of it but there are a few things that I just don't have the proper knowledge to deal with.

I am 100% secure with my sexuality so go ahead and suggest whatever will help. Even if it's not something a guy would normally use.

1. What types of products should I use? I know I need body-wash. But do I need a separate product for washing my face? Moisturizer? I also have a problem with black-heads on my nose. I'm pretty lost here.

2. So I've read I need to exfoliate my skin, is that something I get in body-wash or in a separate product?

3. Certain areas of my body are just dark and look dirty. This is due to a long time of not caring about myself and it just got pretty bad. It seems no amount of scrubbing can make it go away. What can I do for this?

4. Any other skin-care products you'd suggest? Whatever helps keep my skin looking nice and healthySeveral skin-care questions from a guy that just doesn't know better.?
Completely going to sound weird, but Mary Kay has stuff for all of the things you mention - blackheads, exfoliating products, moisturizer, skin lightener, etc.

Other than that - Aveeno has some excellent products, you should get at least a cleanser and a moisturizer, I believe they should have one of each of those for blemish-prone skin.

Biore pore strips are supposed to be good for blackheads, but I haven't tried those.

St. Ives has a clay facial mask that can also help blackheads, called Mineral Clay Firming Mask. Just wash your face with very warm water first and any cleanser, to open your pores.

Lemon juice might help to lighten the dirty looking dark patches, my theory is that it could be built up skin. Or you could try anything with glycolic or salycilic acid in it, it will help dissolve the excess skin cells. Check the labels of anything for acne, usually one of those is the active ingredient.

That should be good. Oh, if you shave your face, Bath %26amp; Body works has an awesome shaving cream. It's by True Blue Spa, and I think it's called Sheave the Day (play on words - has shea butter in it). It's in a blue tube.

Edit - BTW, the person above me has great suggestions too, sea salt or sugar are definitely great exfoliants, as long as it's for your body not your face!!Several skin-care questions from a guy that just doesn't know better.?
hi there you will get plenty of answers for questions 1 2 and 4 but i would like to mention number 3 pls be more specific i dont believe that because you didnt bathe a few days so much dirt accumulated that you cant scrub it off where exactly are these 'dirty' patches on your neck inside of the elbows underarms? If yes pls get your insulin checked.
Try Papaya kojic or licorine base soap/cream.

These work wonders.

its great that you are feeling better and wanting to take care of your self. believe me, most woman dream of the day thier boyfriend asks them what moisturizer to use! Regarding sexuality, the best sexual aide is confidence in your body so I would recomend eating well and exercising. For body wash look for something with glycolic acid or salicylic acid. This will keep your body blemish free. Neurtogena or physoderm are good. To expholiate your skin, yes they make body washed with expholiation beads in them but for a guy, i think that the easiest way to exfoliate is skin brushing. Look it up in google and it will tell you all about it. it feels nice, improves circulation, exfoliates your skin, is easy and fast, and not to girly - ie guy friendly. or you can just mix olive oil and sea salt and rub it on your skin. at any rate, exfoliation of your body should happen once a week. Once a day, after you get out fo the shower and towel dry, moisturize your body. good lotions are nivea, lac-hydrin lotion, aveeno, vaseline intensive care, gold bond. For your face, you need to clense it once in the morning and once before bed. I think Nivea makes a product line for men, as so many other companies. Just take a look at the skin care isle in your local drug store. You need a facial clenser (NEVER use soap, it will age you). I like spectro jel. In the morning use a moisturizer with an SPF to protect your skin. In the evening, the moisturizer does not need to contain spf. to expholiate your face, you can get creams with exfoliation beads in them - use these products once every 2 weeks. for the black heads, biore pore strips really do work. Also neutrogena makes great products to remedy black heads. Good luck!!
get some neutrogena clean %26amp; clear at walmart. They have alot of different types of skin products, so get whatever you think you need. If that does not work, try Proactive. It is expensive, but really good. As far as you body, how about some Axe or some other kind of body wash and maybe a loofah(like a sponge, you scrub your body with it).

  • What skin care products should i use ? im just quitting proactiv after 8 months of it working ?

Well proactiv has worked in getting rid of all the pimples on my face and keeping it that way but now it is just too harsh for my skin and leaves it red. what new skin care products would you suggest?

I rarely get pimples now and i think it is not only due to proactiv, i hav changed a few lifestyle habits like exercising and drinking lots of water.

I would say my skin is combination and i have some freckles (if that makes a difference)

=) tanks to anyone with suggestions! 11 points for best answer,What skin care products should i use ? im just quitting proactiv after 8 months of it working ?
You don't even need proactiv! Here is what I suggest.

Cleanser something that is light and not drying to your skin. such as Basis Cleaner Facewash it is really cheap and works well. (look at your local drugstores)

Exfoliators; this will get rid of the dead skin cells and leave your skin younger looking. I suggest St Ives Apricot scrub it smells good and works well!

For daily moisture use Olay Complete all day moisture lotion SPF 15 combination or normal. It may leave you looking paler though.

    Hoped I helped!

    Face/Skin care?

am being preventative/proactive about taking care of my skin...my skin type is oily but also combination and sensative. I need to know the order to use products and how often for...exfoliating, using a clay mask to draw impurities, nose strips, and steaming my face. I know washing, toner/astringent and lotion are daily...but about every 5 days I want to pamper myself w/ a facial where I steam, clean, tone/astingent, moisturize and put a clay mask on my face. the murad system uses sulfer and salycic acid to clear skin and blemishes so I brought sulfer hair grease (and use it at night like 2-3 times a week to get the sulfur benefits and deep moisturizing of petroleum.) http://www.americarx.com/Products/9451.h鈥?/a>

Also when I get white heads pimples with white filling that protrude out on my face they leave marks or blemishes so I have to stay ontop of face care this seems like alot but I am sure they will prevent oily skin and pimples which cause blemishes for me. THANKSFace/Skin care?

Some Skin Care Questions That Need Answers.?

First of all, I have a bit dry skin I think. I have a lot of neutrogena products and also a clean and clear moisturizer but I don't know which ones to use and when. I have: Power-Cream Face Wash, 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment, Triple Action Toner, Acne Eliminating Spot Gel, and then the Moisturizer.

Right now I use the Power Cream Wash and then the 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment twice a day. Is the Hydrating Acne Treatment a toner?

When should I use the Triple Action toner and spot gel? Also do I use the moisturizer after everything? Would it mess with the toner if I use it right afterwards?

Thanks, Jeremy. :)Some Skin Care Questions That Need Answers.?
the 3-in-1 treatment is not a toner, it's a salicylic acid treatment, which is the same ingredient that is in BOTH the spot treatment and the toner you are using.

using all of these at once is going to dry out your skin!! when your skin is too dry, it will overcompensate by producing more oil which will break you out even more, so it is important to keep your skin moisturized.

i would wash, then use either the toner OR the hydrating treatment. i would wash and use the toner %26amp; spot treatment if you have alot of breakouts, and then at times where they are less severe just wash and use the hydrating treatment.

always use the moisturizer after everything!! just give it a few minutes for all the product to skin into your skin and then moisturize.

i have these little redd bumps on my chest and back now going on to my legs and arms ive had it for a couple days and i dont know wat it is can you help me if you need more details let me know email me at princesscacia@yahoo.com thanxHELP SKIN CARE PROBLEM NEED ANSERS FAST!!!!!see details?
Sounds like what my son had on his arms, chest and back. He had to use St. Ives Apricot Scrub, the little beads inside will help clean out the infected bumps, and it will eventually go away, but you will have to continue using this so it won't come back, (do not have to use everyday) after the bumps are gone, at least 3 times a week, it is actual hair follicles that are getting infected.HELP SKIN CARE PROBLEM NEED ANSERS FAST!!!!!see details?
Calm down, you'll be fine! Do you have bed bugs? Are these bumps really itchy? It could be a pet with fleas. It could also be an allergic reaction of some sort. Just stay calm and wait a couple of days before you call the dermatologist. Meanwhile, be putting a cream on these bites. (You can ask a pharmacist at the nearby drug store about which one works the most for bug bites)

Mixed race skin concealer, skin care products for men.?

I'm curious if there is a concealer for my skin type. I have bad dark circles that are genetic. They just will not go away. I dont want to wear make up . . . but if it looks natural then I will do it.

Also looking for a good Cleanser, Toner, Moisteriser for combination skin. I used to use some stuff by Origins . . . but it doesn't seem to be as good as it used to . . . they changed the ingredients.

    I've heard Clinique is good?

I saw the M-Pen . . . but still not sure it'd look like I wasn't wearing actual concealer.Mixed race skin concealer, skin care products for men.?

Black Skin Care for Pimple Scars?

Can anyone suggest what type of affordable skin cleansing/cream solution I could use to get rid of dark spots/pimple scars on my face? I have a darker brown complexion and every once in awhile, I'd get a pimple or bump the exact same places on my face as months previously. I'd wash my face multiple times a week and it won't do nothing for the pimple or white head except dry my skin out, so I have gotten used to popping them on the spot. But... now they leave darker scars %26gt;=[ And now I have one right on my nose and I look horrible. It pretty much sucks.

For what it's worth - I guess additional info is that I have a '; T '; format where grease builds up on my face. It's not really a T, but my forehead and my cheeks and nose gets effected. Can anyone help? Lol I'm pretty desperate now.Black Skin Care for Pimple Scars?
well, I'm a dark skin BLACK Puerto Rican and my advice to you isss......

drink a large 32 or 64 ounce bottle of prune juice 1X a week and plenty of water try a gallon a day, drink at least 2 cups of green tea a day, add supplements acidophilus and vitamin b5.*vitamin b5 is good for clogged pores which causes blackheads and acne.* some beta carotene, zinc and vitamin c into your diet. i like to take the vitamins seperate. a multi vitamin doesn't give me the dosages i need.

cleaning out your insides will help a great deal with your skin.

try a pure soap like basis (the white one) it has no perfume or fragrance.

use st. ives apricot scrub 2x a week. *I personally like the one for sensitive skin* and make a mix of witch hazel and green tea. soak the green tea bag until its real dark and then mix it with your witch hazel keep that in the fridge.

and what do you mean you wash your face a couple of times a week? that sounds like you only wash when the moods hits you.

i think ( im no skin care expert) you should wash your face morning and right before bed.

after you wash your face use the toner (witch hazel and green tea mix) to remove any soap residue then put a light moisturizer on.. something like jojoba oil or something that your skin will agree with.

also rose hipseed oil is EXCELLENT for dark marks, scars etc... look it up.

remember you can put everything on your face that claims to work but if your insides are dirty your face will always have problems!

    EDIT

OMG stop popping your pimples all you are doing is spreading bacteria and making more dark marks! if you cant stop doing that at least put some rubbing alcohol after you do it so it can help a little bit with the bacteria..........peace!Black Skin Care for Pimple Scars?
Thanks ! i forget to say to you that you can put some witch hazel on cotton pads and keep it in a little zip loc bag or some kind of small container and keep it in your purse (if you are a female lol ) so whenever your face gets oily while at work, school or just in the street you can wipe it down.. Neutrogena skin care products....?

    Dry skin care problems.?

So I have very severe acne on my face chest and back.

I'm on Acutane (medication in a pill form that gets rid of acne and prevents further breakouts) to try to remedy this but the medication has harsh side effects.

    Dry peeling skin

    dry cracked lips (painful)

both of these to the extreme.

Now this is the second time I've been on it (first time was for six months)

But this time the dry skin and lips are much worse than the first time.

I'm usin Blistex lip balm and while it works kinda, it only lasts a short time before it wears off.

It also rubs off on everything (food drinks hands clothes ect.)

It makes my lips very shiny if I put enough on, if I don't put enough on it doesn't work.

And I'm not sure if it's the acutane or the blistex my my lips appear twice their normal size(I look like a clown)

If any one has any answers as to effective alternatives to bothersome blistex, or a fixer for my clownish appearence

    PLEASE HELP!

    thanksDry skin care problems.?
I had that problem maybe a month ago but because I overwashed it trying to get rid of blemishes but they ended up getting worse and with dry cracking, flaky skin.....

You have to exfoliate to get rid of dead skin cells so I couldnt stop exfoliating so I stated exfoliating less harshly and more gentle exfoliation. I moisturized my skin with thicker lotions made specially for dry faces and did it more often. I kept reapplying all day whenever it started losing moisture. My lips werent horrible but they were cracked and dry so I rubbed olive oil on them and again kept caramex on them. But the one where you put it on with your finger one cause that one is more thick and the other caramex are more glossy

But what I think helped out my dry skin the most is water. I drank TONS of it. No kidding I would drink it all day. I would sip it once in a while but I would take big drinks all day. Its true what they say about water it does great things for your body. Appearance wise it cleared my skin so it was moist and blemish free and just great skin overall.. Hope I helped you a out a bit and GOOD LUCK!!Dry skin care problems.?
i would say see a dermatologist.
    Hi Zack,

There is a company called Volcanic Earth who specialize in manufacturing chemical-free products for acne and other troublesome skin problems. Their acne products are particularly effective. For your facial acne, you can't go past their Honey %26amp; Pumice Exfoliant. It is simply brilliant. It is mild enough to use on senstive skin and the drawing power of their volcanic pumice produces almost instantaneous results. If you don't notice visible improvement within a day or two, I will be very surprized.

You can use this same product on the back and chest but it isn't really designed to treat such large areas. A better product for this is their Tamanu Oil Butter. You probably haven't heard of Tamanu Oil as it is a South Pacific Melanesian remedy and largely a well-kept secret. Applying straight Tamanu Oil is likely to have a drying effect whereas the Tamanu Butter (which has 60% pure Tamanu Oil) also has moisturising emolients such as Virgin Coconut Oil and Cocoa Butter.

For your dry and sore lips, look for their Nutritive Lip Balm (also uses Tamanu Oil) in their Tropical First Aid range.

Tamanu Oil is made from the nuts of the Tamanu Tree so if you happen to be allergic to nuts, test the Tamanu Butter on a small area of the skin first.

    Great skin care tips anyone.?

    0hkay, I have weird skin :/

I'm fifteen, %26amp; I already have some pretty defined wrinkles, especially the ';parentheses'; around my lips.

I also have freckles, which I don't mind as much, but is there anyway to prevent getting more.? I don't have a lot, %26amp; I don't want a lot.

Also, my face get's red in the weirdest places. What could I use to get rid of/cover up that redness.?

Please, I'm really, really insecure. %26amp; I want to do something to make me feel %26amp; look better.

  • Penis Skin Care?

Okay, for a while now I've noticed these small harmless bumps on the skin of my penis, its like on the top. It didnt really seem like a big deal since they were like INSIDE but you can see the white spots as if they were white heads or something. Is there something wrong with that? Also I have this small bump like the size of a pimple..Is it possible to have a pimple on your penis? What can I do to clear this off? I'm only 16 and I'm not sexually active so It cant be any STD or anything. Also Im light skinned but my penis is Darker skinned. Would this affect my chances of having sex? How can I take care of the skin of my penis? would hand sanitizer do anything? Lotion? HELP PLEASE!Penis Skin Care?
okay, the white head thing and the darker skin thing is normal, and no, this won't effect your chances for sex. and please, for the love of god, do not put hand sanitizer on your penis. also, it is possible to have a zit on your penis, and if you aren't sexually active than this isn't somthing to alarm you.

where is the bump? sometimes the male penis can develop sort of bump looking things on the underside or near the veins, again, normal.Penis Skin Care?
tell your parents, whichever you feel more comfortable with. AND GO TO A DOCTOR catch it early better be safe then sorry. my brother0-in-law works as someone who analyzise anything they take off/out durring surgery and he's seen some sick stuff, and his lesson to me was if there is ANY deformaty GO TO A DOC
What makes you think they are ';harmless'; bumps. Go to your doctor and check it out. It could be a skin infection or fungas which needs medical attention.
apply some aloe vera gelly and evening primrose oil.

    two-two has spoken
If bathing doesn't clear up those bumps, ask a doctor. It could be an STD that you got from another source besides sex or passed down from your parents.

It could even be cancer. Ask your doctor.
just soap and water. if it worries you a lot ask your doctor.
Try talking to your father, uncle, older brother, or another older male family member. If that is not possible then try your doctor.

My son is uncircumcised and at 5yrs he had his skin growing/sticking to the head of his penis and a white puss would gather under it. I had to take the skin and pull it back away from the area around the head and try to get the puss out and dab it with alcohol. Sometimes it was a little painful so I had to work at it a little each day until it cleared up completely. I don't know if this is what you are experiencing but I decided to share in case you were too uncomfortable talking to someone. I don't suggest using alcohol if it is an open wound only if you are trying to dry out the puss described above. I can only assume that I was not bathing him correctly.

    I hope this helps.
It sounds like you may have had a penis transplant. You were probably born a woman and had someone elses penis sewed on you. This penis could have been infected before you got it. make sure you check with the hospital.

    Professional Skin care Line advice?

I am looking for some opinions on different professional skin care lines out there...to be use in a salon/spa setting.

    I want

    1. Natural, good for skin, nutritious products

    2. That still have excellent clinical results for my clients

    3. Also I would like a good amount of products included in the professional line...such as gommage, peels, cold modeling mask, collagen/aloe/enriched sheets...to use with galvanic or not. So I can help my clients with breakouts, sensitivities, aging and so forth... Also what concerns me is I love all natural products, but like I said I want results, and allergic reactions concern me in some product lines I have reviewed.

    I have researched already myself

I have sent for samples and information from companies

I have my opinion on the different lines....now I would like to hear from the people who get facials or give facials on what you like or dislike.

Thank you very much for all your input.

hmmm...i've seen TONS of commercials of Pro Active and the people on it seem pretty happy..-but it's mainly older people, with pretty bad acne-

i guess since your just breaking out then you could try Neutrogena. lots of teens use it..even me : )

and i bet the people at your school have acne too..everybody does. the girls probably just use foundation/concealer to cover it up.

also remember to keep your face clean and wash it with cold water a lot..and keep it away from oil and grease.
Skin ID. It works really well and it's specialized for every skin type. You can order it off line after you take a test telling them what type of acne and stuff you have.

    Best skin care products/remedy?

I am 13 and I have been trying to find the right skin care product ever since I started purberty (aka the devil's butt). But I have a bad feeling that all the skin care products I have been using are damaging my skin and making it worse. Everything I have used didn't really work for me. I try to take good care of it. I wash it every morning in the shower, then I apply SPF 30 face lotion of my face, then I use Bare Minerals make up just to cover up red spots and blemishes. I drink lots of water. I AM VERY INTERESTED IN NATURAL WAYS TO HELP MY SKIN LIKE REMEDIES. Does any body have any ideas?Best skin care products/remedy?
I use Proactiv. I don't have acne or anything, but it helps to keep your skin feeling vibrant and new. I know Proactiv can be pricey, so Neutrogena is like the next best thing in my opinion. Sometimes you have to use the product for a couple of days to see how your skin reacts to it. But yeah, Bare Minerals does not work at all.

As far as make-up goes. You're young, and your skin is at it's prime. If you wear make-up all the time, it really ages your skin.Best skin care products/remedy?
Personally, I don't think that bare minerals stuff works. Your 13, putting make up at this age is to early. Besides, it makes your face look cakey.

One thing that worked for me was Biore Face wash. They have diffrent ones, oily faces, not oily, dry skin. I like it. They also have pore strips for your nose just in case your pores are coming out! I love it ! Try it out!

    It's a green bottle!

    Hope that helps!
drink lots of water and use lotion.
based on my experience becoz I do have acne prone and oily skin,if you have blemish prone skin, do not apply any form of makeup. let ur skin to heal and breathe.

I understand about the scars part but then u still need to deal with the blemishes first, tackle with it first then the scars.More blemish more scars.

Spf 30 is quite high for oily skin, after which u apply makeup, to me, is quite thick.

Stop ur spf lotion and ur makeup.

Maybe u can search the web for remedies...like manuka honey as mask as it has anit-bacterial properties(but make sure ur not allergy to honey, bittergourd mask and so on)

but not sure if it works.

Eat more veggies and fruits and less oily and fried food.

Less is more when it comes to skincare products.

    Olay breaks me out too.

    hope this helps
I have always been a skin freak when I was you age i knew all the ladies at clinique by name. First and most importantly do not wear make up all the time, the less you put on your face the better. From my personal experience i would go with the Estel Lauder splash away foam cleanser. There products are my fav also for the more natural approach try ';the body shop'; and origeins is also ok but the body shop is better i think.

You might also want to take vitamins/supplements that are good for the skin.
Burt's Bees (www.burtsbees.com) do really good natural stuff, their citrus facial scrub is amazing. The Body Shop (www.thebodyshop.co.uk) vitamin E range is also good, they do really good moisturisers, as do Liz Earle, (www.lizearle.com) but her stuff is a bit more expensive but really worth it. If you get break outs then try tea tree oil or (i know its not natural) sudofed, it honestly works. I also drink Dr Stuart's ';Skin Purify'; extraordianarily good tea every morning, which you can get from sainsbury's and possibly online but i'm not sure, good luck!
in this site there are loads of home remedies on how to maintain skin and has article about 12 super foods for skin, aloe vera and its benefit for skin, egg face mask, zap the zit, how to avoid sunburn check it out hope this would help u

You can use it on your face, but it can cause breakouts if you're acne-prone. I wouldn't try it unless the skin on your face is extremely dry.

Packing list for vacation? Travel skin, hair, and nail care?

Hi! I'm going on an Alaskan cruise (7 days) soon and I was wondering if you had any suggestions for a fashionable teenage girl to bring. I have a general idea of what to pack (formal outfits, active wear, etc.) but are there any cute things in paticular that I should bring? Also any skin care or hair and nail tips for traveling would be nice. Thanks you guys! I hope you answer this!

BTW I'm not into A%26amp;F, AE, Hollister, Aeropostale and stores like that. Thanks!Packing list for vacation? Travel skin, hair, and nail care?
Definitely bring some St. Ives invigorating apricot scrub! It smells amazing and works wonders! Bring a great moisturizer too, preferrably with SPF in it. Wash your face often because the salt content in the air might irritate your skin. If you use hair products bring some of those too but I suggest ditching the hair dryer and curling iron and all that. You want to look good but you don't want to spend all day in your room getting ready!

Bring cute clothes of course! Bring a cute outfit for at night if you want to go dancing. Bring a bikini or other type of swim suit. Bring some flats, flip flips, regular tennis shoes..... accesories, lots of those! Perfume! Sunglasses.

I'm so excited for you! Haha. Have a great trip.Packing list for vacation? Travel skin, hair, and nail care?

Soap is way too harsh on skin, and i'd lay off the face masks too (unless they're a really good quality, they'll just end up clogging your skin).. the secret is to cleanse your face as gently as possibly... this is the product i use, i'd highly recommend it!

    http://www.harpersbazaar.com/cm/harpersb鈥?/a>

The spots may just be a hormonal thing..it could also be down to stress etc.. i recommend putting tea-trea oil on them as it's gentle but effective. If you really want to 'burn' them off...use toothpaste ( put it on b4 bed, let it dry, then go to bed, in the morning, they'll be MUCH better/ gone completely.)

    gd luck! xx
    Kitty

using soap is not for your face, it will eventually cause you to break out more and more

    Use a cleanser/toner combo

This is what I use for my oily face as well. Coonobabe Pepino cleanser followed by their Manzanillo toner. after washing with cleanser, pat dry with clean towel, then apply toner with cotton pad allow to air dry. repeat this in summer months. this is what has kept my skin oil and pimple free

    hope this helps you too

  • Skin care advice for 16 year-old?

I feel like my face is so blahhh looking. I wash it twice a day and I have no breakouts (just once in a while I will get one), but my face is clean. The problem is I have freckles, but they are so light you can't even tell they are freckles. Instead it looks like my skin tone is all uneven and it is gross! :( Also, I have faint under-eye circles and my eyelids are sort of veiny :\ it's not as gross as it sounds, but it bothers me so much! any help?Skin care advice for 16 year-old?
You sound a lot like me. =P

I don't really have breakouts, but my skin can be so lifeless a dull. I have faint freckles too, just across my nose. Some people say they're cute, but I'm not so sure. I have stupid undereye circles and I can see some faint veins on my eyelids above the crease.

Okay, first of all try green tea bags on your eyes. Please them in warm water and then hold gently on your eyes for a few minutes. The caffiene and tea leaves are supposed to help undereye circles, and I have noticed a difference.

Secondly even if you don't wear makeup, try a bit of nude eyeshadow on your lids where the ';veins'; are. I use a matte neuteral beige that covers them up really well. I also use a light eyeshadow near the inner corners of my eyes where it looks dark. Then, use a white shimmery shadow on your brow bone. If you're into foundation, try Bare Minerals. It gets rid of the ';dull lifelessness'; of my skin and gives it a dewy glow! It blends so well and looks so natural!

The last thing you could try is a slight tanning lotion to make discoloration less noticeable. I use Olay Touch of Sun for my face and body. Make sure to blend it well!Skin care advice for 16 year-old?

    Skin care - moisturizer ?

So, lately I have been doing everything I possibly can to make my skin as smoothe and clear as possible. I have very normal/dry skin so I HAVE to use a moisturizer. Otherwise, my face feels very stiff. So, I have been using Aquafina Advanced Hydration Hydrating Facial Spray. It's like a light mist of Vitamin A%26amp;C, Jojoba oil and Aloe. I REALLY like it, but I am using a lot of it and I am wondering if this is ok? I think it's better because I am not touching my face and spreading oil from my hands. What do you think? Skin care - moisturizer ?
I have also normal/dry skin. I use Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture (Combination Skin). I have used it for years and its really good. It makes your skin just right. It moisturizes your face but it doesnt leave it oily. Skin care - moisturizer ?
using single line moistuisers are better then using different.
Good point! I like the idea that it's a spray, so you don't have to spread oil from your hands onto your face. It sounds fine to me! Just if it's expensive, maybe you could try to find a different moisturizer that's not as much money.

    Good luck!

Skin care and body hair removal, how do i get rid of the nasty razor spots?

Okay so, before i started waxing, like everyone else i was shaving.

The first day i always loved it, the skin was smooth, exfoilated and ready to hit the road with a skirt or shorts.

the following days when the hair grew back, especially on my thighs i would get this red marks from the hair popping back, my legs would get ichy, and some times, there would be a zit.

I went to waxing, it was great too, only sometimes i had the same result when they grew back. I can't wear anything short now without panty hose cause of the grey-now dots i have on my thighs. Any advices how to get rid of the scars?

what method of body hair removal do you recommend? waxing and shaving doesn't help alot. Cream is just like shaving just without the razor, plus it's expensive for a result that lasts max 2 days.Skin care and body hair removal, how do i get rid of the nasty razor spots?
exfoliate! The dead skin is what makes hair bumps usually.Or hairs that get cut straight across. This is going to sound funny but I use murad exfoliating gel to keep razor bumps away.

Use a sugar scrub before you remove hair to soften the hair and remove dead skin.Use a moisturizing cream if you shave.Use a razor with 3 blades or more. You have to go over the area less and the shave lasts longer.I place a hot (as hot as I can stand it) wet cloth on the area right after shaving, then apply the Murad after Im dried off- dont apply it right away it may sting.I use it everyday after I shower and it works.

One day, when I can afford it- im going to get mine lasered off! Shaving/waxing/Nairing sucks!

Oh and if you exfoliate with a scrub regularly and keep lotion on, the spots will fade. All it is,is dead skin around the hair that came in contact with a razor.Skin care and body hair removal, how do i get rid of the nasty razor spots?

    Skin-care help?

I will be 16 this August %26amp; I wash my face with Clean %26amp; Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser and afterwards I use C%26amp;C Daily Pore Toner, then I use Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer. I also use St. Ives Apricot Scrub whenever needed (once a week)

My face is clear, I just use this stuff so I don't get any blemishes. I DO NOT HAVE ACNE.

    Question:

    1) Should I keep on continuing to cleanse, tone, and moisturize?

    2) I feel that I should use something other than C%26amp;C Morning Burst Shine Control. Do you have any suggestions as to what cleanser I should use? One that prevents breakouts and rids the blemishes.

    3) Are the products I am using alright? Is it too much, I mean I only cleanse, tone, and moisturize so it's not overdrying my skin, it's moisturized.

    4) I really, really, really like the Neutrogena products, what is a good cleanser to use from them? I prefer them than anyone else.

DO NOT OFFER PROACTIV. I DON'T HAVE ACNE.

I have pretty much the same deal and every now and then I get a zit or two so i use proactive mask thing to clear it up fast. but i am now using clean and clear stuff for it. i usually use a scrub and moisturizer is all. mostly generic brands or C%26amp;C.
I f your skin is good, why did you ask this Q.? use anything from neutrogena. it depends on your skin type, but they have good products.
ummm welll on the back of the bottle it says dont use with any other products so yea you might be using to much

  • Skin Care?! Proactive?!?

Hello! So I am a 20 year old female. Up until about 6 or so months ago I used to have good skin. Now I have often breakouts especially around my mouth (chin) and a little bit on my forehead. I have tried several things but nothing seems to work. I started proactive 5 days ago and my skin is is now VERY VERY dry (especially around my chin). Is this common and will it go away after continued use? Or is there any other products I can could use to solve my skin problem.

    Thank you!Skin Care?! Proactive?!?
Okay so I used to have really bad skin, but now I have totally clear skin, this is the schedule of products I've been on,It works perfectly for anyone -

    Clearasil Blackhead control:

The body is constantly putting dirt into your pores to create blackheads, then if triggered through sweat or anything for to long, they cause breakouts of pimples.Apply this treatment to your skin once in the morning on a tissue or cotton wool, and once again before bed.

    Clearasil Ultra Acne Treatment cream:

Now I'm not saying you have acne, but acne cream is at least 10 times more effective, and with Clearasil's Ultra boost, you get even more visibly clearer results, not to mention prevention, just put on once every day to common breakout areas for the first week and then twice a day after that.

Within 8 hours you should begin clearing.Skin Care?! Proactive?!?
I had a problem with my skin when I was in my twenties also. I tried all sorts of rememdies. The biggest thing is to keep the skin clean by using a quality product. Someone mentioned Victoria Principals. That is a great product line if you can afford it. It is clean and quality. The facial wash includes toner, so you don't have to do a two step for this. The moisturizer is gentle and full of quality ingredients including spf 15.

Another thing, make sure all your phones are clean and that you don't touch your face on the forehead or chin. This sounds crazy, but sometimes, the acne can be from touching your face with bacteria on your hands.

Good luck on what ever you do. Proactive is a great product if you find using a good facial wash and clean/simple moisturizer is not enough.
i the exact same problem as you, and i started eliminating some of the proactiv products i was using to see if thats what was causing it, and i find the repairing lotion dries out your skin tremedously, especially if you use it once a day. use everything else, but i'd say use the repairing lotion once every two days, it definitely worked for me.
Dont use Proactive or any other acitves in the market. I got my pimples around the end of my teen years too.

So trust me on this one....put aloe vera gel,or plant is better if you have it, break off the skin and rub in the gel...overnight...sleep on it, you will rid of the pimple the other day....plus no scars n its good for freckles and other damage to skin too.

Best thing i ever came across for my face..;)
I've tried everything, MaryKay, Proactiv, Arbonne, store brand. I have to say the stuff that works the best is Principal Secret by Victoria Principal. Proactiv worked, but dried me out, therefore making me break out by excessive oil production.

The Principal Secret is so soothing. I have had horrible blackhead and redness with the occasional whitehead my whole life, but this stuff got rid off it all. And it's anti-aging, so your skin glows and is very soft to the touch. It was only a couple of days of using it before I heard compliments from everyone. Also, she offers a 30-day, bottom of the jar money back garauntee. Give it a shot. The trial 30 day kit is 30 bucks and after that the big sized kit is $30 a month.

Try it!!!!! Bad skin can ruin everything! AND water, water, water and if you hate water Crystal Light, Crystal Light, Crystal Light!!!!
Proactive is great.. if it is making your facedry use it everyother day.
Yes, Proactive should work. However, it is ok to use a lotion to avoid uncomfortable dry skin- this shouldn't affect the Proactive results. Use a medically approved lotion like Cetaphil- this will moisturize without making you too greasy.

    Skin care help!?

ok well i use pro active. i have since 5th grade. i've come to realize that it isn't working like it should. i use to NEVER break out. and now it just doesn't work the same. i have bunch of whiteheads on my nose. it's really bothering me because pro active use to work. my friends told me that alot of the time your skin gets use to pro active or really any skin care system and that it stops working. idk what to use now. i really want a new skin care system. but idk what to use.... neutrogena? clean and clear? or something else? i need help =/Skin care help!?

i used proactive for about a year and it worked well but my skin became ammuned to it if your acne is getting bad i suggest going to a dermatologist and they can customize the right skin care protucts for your skin type

    plz answer mine

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
do u know what , you dont need to buy all those stuff , use something natural . i used lemon juice and it works for just about 2 hours but it stings . i myself had acne since i was grade 6 and it sucks and now i have clear face. just use lemon juice in your face and u can see a great result and after for a good moisturizer a it of honey and rinse off and taa daaa = clear face !
Neutrogena Acne Stress Control is marvelous! It is resonably priced, smells really nice, and works wonders!
acne free has a different ingredient in it that proactive doesnt have, and its works really well (well for most people. . .depends on how bad your skin is)

if you have really bad breakouts you should go see a dermatologist and get some prescription meds.

i also like to use neutrogena soap. it doesnt irritate or dry out my skin at all.

    hope i helped!!
The combination of Tea Tree Oil soap and the Clindamycin cream is the best for Acne and pimple. These work wonders. Maybe it will work on you too.

Try searching it through Google 'shopaholic's bargains'
Diet is part of the solution. I have had problem skin all my life. The best thing I can suggest is Tea Tree Oil and the Murad skin care line. I wash my face 3x a day. Murad has a starter kit for about $35. Follow there regime and you will be satisfied.

Skin care HELP! I am 23 years old and still get medium/bad acne.?

I've been to the dermatologist several times but nothing has really worked, PLUS it's expensive to keep up the prescriptions and office visits (we are starving college students!)

I learned how to battle acne as a teenager, but my skin seems to be different now, it's not as oily as it once was, but it's not fully mature/aging yet, it seems like it's in an awkward in-between phase.

(i haven't tried it yet, but it seems like a good option)Skin care HELP! I am 23 years old and still get medium/bad acne.?
I had really bad acne, and to make it better i used ';clinique'; i think thats how you spell it. 3 step treatment. and drank LOTS of water. i cut down on candy and surgary junky foods and it slowly settled down. if you have hair like bangs on your pimpley area, pin it up or move it away.
I use Clean and Clear Persa-Gel. It comes in a little tube and all you have to do is rub it directly on the pimple at bedtime and in about 2 days it's gone! Trust me, it works!

    1. Go on a healthy diet.

    2. Wash your face with cleanser with warm water.

    3. Stop stressing that much.

    4. Get an exfoliating mask once a week.
Well, you might still be going through puberty
proactive works well, bet if not that use a hot towel and put it on ur face for a while.
Oily skin can cause several skin problems, including blackheads, shiny skin, makeup that won鈥檛 stay on the face, and of course, acne. While there are other causes, oily skin is the most likely.

Many over-the-counter products are made to treat oily skin, but these contain harsh chemicals. Sometimes oily skin care products end up leaving the face dry and rough, which really only causes another set of skin care problems. Some products upset the delicate Ph balance of the skin or skin tone, not to mention that the chemicals in these products are harsh and just flat out may not be safe to use regularly.

When looking for a solution to oily skin, why not look for a more natural solution?

    Essential Oils for Oily Skin

Citrus essential oils, such as lemon, grapefruit, tangerine and orange, can help with oily skin problems without the harsh effects of using the actual juice from the fruits themselves. Find an all-natural herbal lotion base and add 3 to 4 drops per ounce of the citrus essential oil of choice to the base. Use it on the face in the evening to help prevent oily skin.

    Blackheads

Mix an oatmeal paste with unflavored oatmeal, lemon juice and olive oil, using just enough olive oil to wet the mixture. Scrub it onto the face to pull oil from pores and help reduce blackheads. Be sure to wash the face thoroughly with warm water afterward.

-Don't touch, pick or try to pop a pimple, this will just spread the bacteria to other parts of your face and could cause further outbreaks, it could also cause permanent scarring.

-Drink plenty of water. This will flush out the toxins in your body through your kidneys, instead of through your skin pores, which could cause outbreaks. You should aim to drink 8-10 glasses a day.

-Every half an hour, apply an ice pack to the pimple and hold it there for 120 seconds, this will decrease inflammation, redness and reduce pain that sometimes come with pimples.

    -

Crush up 1-2 asprin tablets, form a paste with it and apply to the pimple. Wash off with warm water.

-At night, apply normal toothpaste, leave it on overnight, and in the morning wash off with warm water.

    -

Apply a drop of alcohol which will reduce inflammation and redness.

    -

Apply fresh lime juice to the pimple, this has also be known to reduce inflammation and redness.

-Get a bit of cloth or rag, clean it, then warm it up using hot/warm water. Hold over the pimple for 5 minutes. Repeat this twice a day. This will help the circulation to the pimple and help the ';head'; to form faster.

-You should aim to cleanse, wash, gently exfoliate and moisturize your skin TWICE a day.

These tips are what i've heard off my mum and friends of mine, I have used a few of these remedies and they are brilliant!! I hope i've helped you, good luck xx

Skin care. I need help. ! For summer. !?

Well ok so here's the details...I'm black, my skin is dry/oily, I don't get many pimples unless I'm on my period, and I wear makeup!

So...What is a good moiturizer and makeup remover that wont dry my skin out?? Cause right now i use ambil moisturizer and i dont remember the name of the makeup remover.

I need help to get my skin clear so i will look good when i visit my friends in New Jersey that i havent seen in 4 years! And i wanna look nice for them :D.

And is there a good pimple scar remover? Will Mederma work?Skin care. I need help. ! For summer. !?
You can try a tinted moisturizer - it's got a little bit of color in it and it's lighter than regular foundation. I LOVE the Biore products: they have facial wipes, a warming cleanser and a warming mask, a cooling cleanser, and their own moisturizer. Use one wipe to wipe off makeup, use one more to remove dirt, use the blackhead clearing scrub to clear pores and then use their lotion. As of right now I'm using the Clean and Clear oxygenating moisturizer. The only downside of it is that it makes my skin shiny so I put it on before I apply my makeup (compressed powder, never liquid foundation. It's too thick and makes me look cakey). Good luck! :]Skin care. I need help. ! For summer. !?
well when it comes to make up remover my favorite is aveno and as an aesthetician i have my pick from professional lines, but i like aveno. it works and is affordable, just make sure you get the one that is right for your skin type. a good oil free moisturizer is great for any skin type regardless of brand. the ones with oil can irritate skin and cause acne so just make sure its water based, you will know cause water or aqua will be in the first 5 ingredients, preferably the first ingredient. use a exfoliating facial wash 1 or 2x a week but no more to help get off the dry skin that can make you look dull and good luck. have fun in Jersey!

Skin-care tips for women in their 20s?

I'm 20 and want to start taking better care of myself, especially my skin, and instill healthy habits now. I have quite fair skin, light hair, etc...and have had some pretty bad burns in my life on my face, shoulders and back (mainly when I was a kid), but now I try to avoid the sun during peak hours and wear SPF daily. I drink lots of water, but am going to increase my intake. I'm trying (not that hard, though) to kick my junk food habit and eat more fruits and veggies. Just wondering if women, old and young, have any tips out there for aging gracefully? Would it be any good to start using anti-aging creams now? Or are those all gimmicks that don't actually work? Also, I use a bit of sunless tanner on my face everyday just to give me a little color and look a bit healthier, does anyone know if there are many harmful effects from that? Thanks!Skin-care tips for women in their 20s?
Start taking in vitamins. I take evening primrose oil and royal jelly pills at the start of every morning. Some friends I know have even started on collagen drinks.

Other than that, I take cranberry and blueberry juices and use a host of other skincare products, day and night. Rose hip oil is good; it helps keep the wrinkles at bay.

  • Skin care tips for an African American 14-year old?

I am 14 years old and I am so annoyed with my skin right now. It seems like I'm constantly breaking out, or my face is always shiny. I've tried alot of products on my face (Proactiv- worked, but as soon as i stopped using it, i broke out, AcneFree, Ambi, Noxzema, etc.) and nothing is really making a difference. I know most of it is just me going through adolescence and all, but there has to be something that i can do to at least tone it down...so anyone who has any products, natural or store-bought...please help!! Skin care products?

I have combonation skin. My nose is oily and gets a lot of blackheads. Between my eyebrows, my forehead, and my cheeks get really dry. I use proactiv right now and it got rid of the red bumps on my cheeks and chin, but besides that it did nothing so to me it's not worth the money especially because it dried my skin even when I used moisturizer and didn't use anything on my skin outside of their products. What's a good skin care line, preferably a little cheaper than Proactiv, that will keep my bumps away and help my blackheads?

I wash my face twice a day every day and I really have never found anything that helps my skin.Skin care products?
Use Clinique skin care products those are really the best you can find those may be expensive but taking care of your face is your best investment. You can find them in big departamental stores and probaly they will try to sell you a whole package of products just buy the soap and the antiblemish those are the best and you might also want to buy a moisturizer as you said you have dry skin and other thing that had help me is using a bufpuf sponge (3M is the brand) to apply the soap use more strenght in the oily areas and pass it slightly over the dry ones.

    I hope I helped.Skin care products?
clean and clear is wht i use

    Skin care? what to buy?

okay, I'm 28 and have never started a skin care regiment, I take a shower everyday and always wash my face with soap, and truthfully, I've never really fully had a problem except for my time of the month. however, recently a friend introduced me to this goats milk and almond honey facial cream cleanser, and I can't believe how smooth my skin is, and fresh looking, so it got me going, and now I'd like to start a skin care regiment, but I have no idea what to buy...olay? loreal? nutrogeana? etc..and they have all different things...day cream, night cream, eye cream, olay has this 7 in 1...does that mean its all in one, like I wouldn't need it, along with moistourzier and eye cream, or do I still use the moisturizers and eye cream..etc..just wondering what I should start with, and what do I absolutely need? again I'm 28, and I don't really have any wrinkles that I can see, buy everyone is telling me that if I dont' start now, I will.Skin care? what to buy?
The very best skin care products are made by CLARINS. You can find the products in major department stores. Expensive, yes, worth the price, yes. Don't use cheap products if you care how you look.

PS Don't ever smoke or be with people that do. It will cause early wrinkles and ugly skin. Stay beautiful.Skin care? what to buy?
i use clean n clear n by the end of the week my face is felling brand new!! works great ! n cheap! like around $4.00 n up
I would not recommend you use water and soap for your face since it can hamper the natural glow over a long time. What you need to do first find out the skin type (oily or dry). Based on that buy a face kit which includes a face wash, toner and cream which will help keep the glow on your face. I am few years younger than you and I have been using these products for an amazing results over the past couple of years:

Best facial skin care for dry, winter skin?

Winter is ravaging my skin! My skin has very dry, flaky spots in middle of forehead and around my eyes and eyelids. Right now I use neutrogena gentle cream cleanser daily, and st. ives collagen elastin moisturizer. I use Caudalie essential oil under and around my eyes- it was mad expensive but hasn't made the problem go away, just soothes it a little bit.

I think the st. ives may be better for summer though b/c its not very thick. Anyway, can anyone recommend a not super-greasy day cream and a nice, soothing, moisturizing night cream? I don't have $40 to spend on this stuff, by the way :-pBest facial skin care for dry, winter skin?
Murad products saved my life- i went from having acne so bad that it looked like my cheeks were made of raw ground beef- now i have amazingly clear skin without scars and i actually get compliments on how good my skin looks sometimes- it didnt dry me out or make my face feel like i was burning off- it actually smelled good and fresh and it feels great- like i said a total lifesaver...Murad.comBest facial skin care for dry, winter skin?
Try Jergens Ultra Healing lotion-- I have really dry skin too, and I use it on my face all the time. It doesn't make your skin greasy or oily and the price is great. It's nothing fancy; you can find it at Duane Reade or CVS, but it really works!

Hope I could help in any way!!!
Aveeno works for me. Try C.O. bigelow or bath and body works if that doesn't work.
    yes
In the winter our skin needs special care. Along with the care rules comes also the myths. Here are a few of them:

聽- As more fat the cream is as more she will hydrate your skin聽

A fat cream does not mean an optimal level of hydration. An overdose of fat can cover the dead cells and the result will be a tarnished looking skin . To be sure that you will get the optimal hydration聽 apply a serum of hydration before a moisturizing cream. Serums are more easy but they have active ingredients in higher concentrations and are absorbed quickly.

聽- If cloudy you don't have to use cream with solar protection

The clouds do not filter all harmful rays. When cold weather comes use daily moisturizing cream with 15 SFP to protect you. To grow the solar protection , you can use sunscreen and a serum rich in antioxidants as the moisturizing cream.

聽- Peeling in the winter will exacerbate dry spots

The peeling can accelerate the renewing of cell. The idea is to have a well-hydrated skin and not just by using cremes but also masks with hydrating effect . Hydrate聽 your skin after peeling, as the natural barrier of protection is poor. An exfoliant with gentle effect is the one based on enzymes.

聽- Using a balm will prevent split lips.

Only certain balsams will do so. Some usual ingredients may have adverse effect. Mineral oil creates an artificial film on your lips, pointing out your skin to stop the production of lipids, while balsams with flavors, colors and perfumes can dry your skin. Search balsams of lips with natural oils聽 , shea聽 or cocoa butter .

To get rid of peels apply a little face exfoliant on wet lips or use a soft toothbrush and gentle rub your lips 聽, after that apply the balsam. Wait until the spring to use balsams that gives your lips volume or those who resist longer , but which dries the skin of your lips .

聽- To have a beautiful skin you have to stay as much as you can at home

It is true that extreme temperatures can dehydrate you. But at home, because of artificial heat can happen the same thing. So you enjoy the fresh air outside and winter sports聽 , for interior buy a humidifier and use it especially at night.

聽- Leave aside the skin treatments

It is true that you have to let it easy with the use of creams with ingredients too powerful but you can do something else . Winter is the best time to begin a treatment for hair removal using laser, especially when is needed to avoid exposure to the sun. After this treatment apply an anti-inflammatory cream for your skin to regain its ability to recover.

Skin care kits?? Tips? what to do for insanely dry knees?

i am looking for a skin care kit for combination skin that i can just do every day. please none of this weekly things or every other day. just something a little more simple. I am 13, so i don't need anything ';anti-aging'; i don't want anything that will give me wrinkles later-obviousely. I have dry skin but i still get zits in the dry areas. the kid I am looking for would hopefuly have a facial serum, a balancing cream, an eye cream, and a spot treatment. if you know about any kits, or personal tips, or if you could tell me your own *succesful* skin care routine-please post it. and obviousely ive been giving the details for my face but my body skin is just, normal i guess. my knees are increadibly dry, they don't even feel like skin. i mosturize there twice a day, and it never helps. so any tips that you know are increadibly appreciated.Skin care kits?? You should go to a dermatologist, they will help you with your skin and make it look really nice.

However if you can't go to a dermatologist, the neutrogena wave worked pretty well for me and my skin was oily, and sensitive win a few pimples.

  • Skin care problems...................?

    i'm 13, and i dont want answers saying ';oh its just puberty, you'll get over it.';

but im already fully developed, i've had my period for 3 years (yes i know its sad, i got it when i was 10) but anyways, i have tons of acne

    well, sometimes i do

my face is either fairly clear with just a few bright red pimples

or covered in a ton of small ones

i use clean and clear cleansers

    i use neutrogena cleansers

i use pretty much everything, but it DOESNT WORK!

what can i do to get rid of my pimples? or at least tone them down a bit?

what kind of cleansers work/worked for you?

any food thats good for that?

not touching skin, any advice like that?

    10 pointsSkin care problems...................?
Stop using so many facial products! D: I have perfectly clear skin, am your age, and had my period for as long as you did..This is what I do =p

    1. Go to a sauna at least once a week...it opens up your pores and you sweating gets all the crap that's in your pores. And a bonus, it leaves your skin looking dewy and soft=) If you don't have access, steam your face. =) Boil some water, pour it in a wide bowl, hold your face above it and cover with a towel so the steam doesn't escape...10-15 minutes..

    2. Aveeno cleansers. Best thing in the world. ONLY chemical thing that I put on, and its still basically all natural. I use the positively radiant one. Wash morning and night. And don't just lather on once and wash off, do it twice...I don't believe the first time gets rid of everything.

    3. Only use pure Vitamin E moisturizer or Aloe Vera..I use Aloe..use it after you cleanse. =)

    4. Weekly, do a face mask...either with a raw egg yolk, or any fruit that matches your skin type and what you want to achieve...just type in google home made facial masks or home remedies..or anything else you can thing of that would direct you to websites. I found a few amazing ones that have all natural remedies for skin, hair, nails, etc. =)

    5. NO TOUCHY!

    6. NEVER WEAR FOUNDATION! I repeat! NEVER WEAR IT! It is the worst thing possible for acne..even if its FOR acne, its still terrible!!

    7. Another thing..you might want to try using a GENTLE scrub once a week or so..maybe even once every two weeks.

    8. Be gentle with it=) People in the old ages did not have all these chemicals and products, they only had natural ingredients. And they had amazing skin...the more you put on, the more your skin gets used to it, and it won't do its job of cleaning itself and retaining its natural moisture.

    9. Skin a day or two with cleansing...just use water and Aloe=) This will keep it healthier in the long run, and like I said above, keep it from getting used to the chemicals...I noticed that when I did that, my skin was actually healthier looking and clearer than with washing every single day..

    10. Basically, I follow almost the same thing that this woman does in the youtube video I'll post as one of the sources, but I don't use any facial products except those I wrote...that and the fact that I have to follow a strict acid reflux diet..look it up if you're interested. I noticed that it helped INCREDIBLY..it made my skin more glowing and healthy. =)

I could come up with alot more, but this is just off the top of my head...If you have any questions or want any advice on this, just e-mail me=)Skin care problems...................?
I feel for you. I was in the same place at 13 and it's not fun. When I discovered foundation, I thought it was an absolute God send. Try applying just a light amount to your face to help cover the pimples up. Don't cake it on or you'll look even worse. Cover girl used to make a line for acne prone skin, so you could even try that.
Have you tried the Clean%26amp; Clear with the active ingrediant Triclosan? Its oil free and foams.

Look for products with that in it.
I feel for you too, I like ';nope';'s answer, but I feel you should stay away from foundation. Even if it's for acne prone skin, it still clogs your pores and prolongs the damage in the long run. If it's makeup you want, try bare minerals. It's a little pricey, but it's great for acne prone skin. I am 25, and never had pimples until now. I started using that make up, and using a mask once a week and it really helped to clear up my skin. I like Queen Helene's Mint Julep mask. As far as cleansers go, I like Alba brand Sea Algae Enzyme facial scrub. It's not harsh at all, and leaves your skin really soft. Good luck, and hang in there!!
before you clean your skin with any of the products...soak your face in warm to hot water for a about 5 minutes or so, so the pores can open up, make sure your face is clean of makeup too before you do this. then after 5 minutes, use your cleansers again...sometimes when you use your cleanser, take your time to massage it around face, but dont press hard on it cuz it may irritate your skin. if do u wear makeup, make sure it's cleaned off before you go to sleep. also eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and drink water. try to stay away from oily foods and yeah dont touch your face when your hand is dirty or better yet dont touch it at all. oh and dont stay up too late for the night, cuz it maybe another problem causing you to break out...you need at least a good 7 to 10 hours of sleep.

    Skin care questions?!?!?

Is this a good routine and everything to get rid of acne and acne scars?

I have some mild acne and scars:

-I take one shower a day and that's in the morning.

-I use neutrogena oil free face wash in the morning and night.

-I apply Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E Cream after washing face.

-I drink a lot of water.

-I workout every morning except the weekends.

-I probably shave about 3 times a week at night before going to bed.

-I rarely eat junk food, candy, or fast food.

-I just stopped drinking milk and eating peanut butter about 2 weeks ago to see if that would help to clear my skin up.

-I take a one a day vitamin and a zinc pill every other day

Does this sound like a good routine/way of life to get rid of the acne and some scars?

How long should i accept for the Vitamin E cream to work?

Should I not do something that I am doing, or what?Skin care questions?!?!?
Try taking showers at night because the dirt that you pick up when gone from home may be in your pillow causing acne. Always wash before going to bed.Skin care questions?!?!?
Sounds like you have a great routine and should be seeing results.

    Skin care while pregnant.......?!?!?!?

thanks in advance and hope everyone is doing well todaySkin care while pregnant.......?!?!?!?
I would ask your doctor, but I've never heard of not being able to use a certain type of skin care product.

    Skin care question! PLEASE HELP?

I am thinking about getting the following products, and I need to know if they are good, how often I should use them (each night, morning, twice daily, etc.), and in what order to apply (cleanser, then moisturizer, etc.):

Neutrogena Visibly Even Dialy Moisturizer SPF 30

    Neutrogena Moisturizer for Combination Skin

    Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser

    Neutrogena Acohol-free Toner

***Please help as much as you can, because I'm new to this! ThanksSkin care question! PLEASE HELP?
Once in the morning, once in the night.

Cleanser, toner, once toner is dry - SPF 30, then moisturizer.

You can moisturize your face more if you need it, and you might even find you don't need the toner.Skin care question! PLEASE HELP?
it would be better if instead of regular moisturizers you substitute one for a night moisturizer. So this is what you want to do in the morning first cleanse your skin, then apply toner, toner is used to neutralize the ph balance in your skin, then you want to apply your moisturizer. follow the same routine at night.
Definitely get visibly even daily moisturizer.

    1. visible even daily moisturizer (in the morning and when you go out)

    2. moisturizer for combo skin ( at night)

    3. fresh foaming cleanser (in the morning and night)

    4. toner (night)

Clean your face first, then tone and then moisturizer.
I have tried the neutrogena fresh foaming cleanser, i personally did not like it, I thought it was too drying. I prefer oil of olay myself, However the moisturizers are very nice as well as the retinol treatment for wrinkles that is used at night. The toner is OK. But I personally am not a toner girl and really a step that you can skip.

    Skin care schedule?

ok so im 15 and phyco about taking care of my face and I was just wondering if theres anything else I can do to take better care of my skin. So this is my make up routine (this is after I wash my face in the morning usually w/ just cold water or some palmolive soap)

    1) moisterize face w. neutragina(sp?) moring glow w/ spf 15

    2) Put some physicains formula mineral wear loose powder on my nose

    3) and some charcoal eyeshadow on top lid like eyeliner and maybelline define a lash.

    4) put on some pink blush and victorias secret voluptuous lip plumper stuff

Then at night this is all the crap I do

    1) use eye make up remover and take away all my mascara

    2) wash my face with clearasil daily face wash

    3) put on some ponds dry skin moisterizer b/c my face gets dry after washing

    4) if its thursday I exfoliate and use a skin renewal moisterizer instead.

I try to drink as much water as i can everyday and I guess I eat fairly healthy.Skin care schedule?
AAAAHHH Palmolive!! No my dear, nooooooooooo. This may contribute to your dryness. Face cleansers are tested by dermatologists for a reason, and dish soap or hand soap is not. Either don't wash at all or use a mild cleanser like Cetaphil or even Johnson %26amp; Johnson Purpose. If your skin is not dry on a regular basis, you do not need any extra moisture from the ponds dry skin formula. If you have regular or occasional breakouts, they could be due to this, the adding of extra moisture which will add to the oil and skin issues. If your skin is not dry all the time, don't use a dry skin moisturizer, use a combo or normal. It doesn't have to be expensive, but try to keep it simple and away from all the vitamin A or salycilic acid junk.

Good luck and happy face washing! Love a girl who has a regimen!Skin care schedule?
    i think your doing fine!

i cant seem to get clear skin...i have acnea on my forehead and a lot of black pores on my nose. but they r now spreading off my nose..i tried pore strips...but hey dont do any thing...i cant seem to find the right products for me..im 13 so im NOT going to try pro-active. my face is allways greasy..and feels over moisterized towards the night...after a shower its very dry and peely...please help me find some products or tips on skin care..Skin care....plz help!!?
well for the pores part i know u can use green tea... yea it may sound weird but asian celebrities do this..heres the steps:

    1. make sum green tea and put it in the fridge to make it cold.

    2. before using the green tea, wash ur face with hot water so ur pores can open.

    3. use the cold green tea to wash your face.

    and for the acne

    1. use a blender to blend carrots and make it extremely fine.

    2. Mix flour/oatmeal and water ** for every 3 cups of carrots theres 2 cups of flour/oatmeal and 1 cup of water!!

yea its weird but it works... hope this is wellSkin care....plz help!!?
I'm 13 too. I don't want to use weird stuff like proactive either. I use the neutrogena wave. It cleans your face so you don't have any acne, without using strange creams or removers. I love it, it takes a while to get, and you have to keep buying the cleansing pads every so often, but it's worth it. Here's a link.
All I can say is find a Mary Kay seller and buy Velocity. I tried it and it works better than anything else.
at ur age, proactiv is definately not a good choice becuase ur skin is still developing and cant handle the harshness of adult acne products...

so stick to facial soap[[like dove, suave, etc...somthing ';smooth and girly';]] theyre gentle on ur skin and wont over dry it.

wash ur face every morning and night and [[at nighttime]] put some baby powder all over ur face and then when u wake up, the acne will go WAAAY down.

during the daytime, use hydrocortisone CREAM[[ u can get it pretty much anywhere, especially walmart and drug stores]]

the hydrocortisone is an antibiotic that will kill nasty germs that cause acne...and its soooo amazing because it works really fast!

    trust me.
besides tryin your over the counter acne products like clearsil or oxy, you should wear a moisturizer (if you dont already) It sounds like your skin is over producing oil to compensate for being dry, if you start wearing a moisturizer it wont work so hard to try to stay moistuirized and in turn may help cut back on black heads since there wont be as much oil to clog your pores. Also, drink lots of water, it helps flush the impurities out and will also help moisturize and cut back on oil.
You need to see a doctor about it. I can't really help you, but I know that my siblings had similar problems, went to the doctor, and BAM, after a few months their skin cleared up. Going to the doctor might not sound fun, but if you're really serious about this, you'll do it.
okay I'm 13 and had the same problem, but i DID use proactive for awhile and it helped my skin sooo much with the dryness and it got ride of my black heads.

but then i spoke with my Doctor and she prescribed me clindamycin phosphate topical gel witch got ride of all my acne

i still have a few black heads but there hardly noticeable.

you should really try talking to your Doctor about getting the gel it really helps and you will be happy.

and your not too young for proactive. if you don't feel like bothering your parents to take you to the doc's office then just get it its easy to use

    good luck !
As gross as it sounds, using raw egg yolk and whites as a mask helps some. It has to be done a few times a week though. It might take a couple of weeks to see results. Another thing you could try doing is cutting down on sugar and grease.
Jamie is it try washin ur face wit dove soap on a daily basis it really has ur skin smooth and moisturized.Try clean %26amp; clear acne control based on wat u said don't use Proactive!
Go see you doctor or GP about you acne on you forehead and they'll be able to prescribe you something that will help, i did and skin looks so much better, ur skin sounds sensitive so try using a product for sensitive skin and use a exfoliate once a week to get rid of the black heads and a very light moisturizer for after showers. Don't expect straight away results as nothing is a magic cure, at 13 no ones skin is perfect but it get better with gud diet and age.
